Program Aims
To achieve our vision in supporting all young people in our care, our

adventure-based, trauma-informed approach, supports young people to:

  • Discover potential

  • Build resilience and confidence

  • Promote team work

  • Build healthy relationships

  • Develop helpful behaviours

  • Promote protective life skills

​​Accommodation

Ideal for young people not wanting or suitable for bush-based camping. ​​

Property features:

  • Private bathroom and shower facilities — toiletries provided

  • Laundry facilities — clothes laundered whilst on program  

  • Fully equipped kitchen — all meals provided

  • Staff based on-site 24 hours

  • Fully secure

 

On-Site Activities:

  • Heated in-ground swimming pool

  • Games room - Lego, boardgames, cardgames, 

  • PlayStation5

  • Large TV

Off Site Activities

Customised based on young person's choice! ​​​Staff can run day trips to

include swimming, mountain biking, sandboarding, mini-golf, animal zoo,

jetty fishing, rockpool exploration.

 

Respite Location

Residential respite is based on the Bass Coast - Phillip Island

GOTYA offer transport from:

  • Drouin

  • Pakenham

  • Lang Lang​​

Catering

All our programs are fully catered from the moment a young person is in our

care.​

 

Staff
Staff are highly qualified and experienced in supporting

complex young people in overnight respite settings.

Staff are University and/or TAFE qualified in:

  • Youth Mental Health

  • Forensic Behavioural Science

  • Community Services 

  • Counselling

  • Primary & Secondary Education

Specialist Staff - Youth Mental Health Practitioner

Participants in our Respite Programs benefit from the expertise

of our university-qualified Registered Counsellors. Many young

people choose to engage with our specialized therapeutic staff

during their respite period. Counsellors are readily available to

offer their specialized support whenever it's required.
